Battlestar Galactica - Series 1 & 2 Helo figures

Diamond Select Toys have managed to produce some fantastic figures over the last couple of years and while unfortunately the Battlestar Galactica series has moved into their 'archive product' range, it means that some of these figures can be snapped up cheaply!

I was undecided if I wanted to get into this line so I thought for the moment I would just stick with the two figures released of my favourite character from the series, Carl 'Helo' Agathon. While I am not a huge fan of 7" figure ranges it's hard to pass up anything that’s cheap and Battlestar related.

I would have also loved to have seen this series shrunk down to a line that Hasbro would have produced. Battlestar could have had some seriously awesome vehicles and playsets to use with them (Raptor's, Cylon Fighters, Bridge of the Battlestar etc)

The figures themselves look quite good (although the face's could have done with a little work) and both outfits are true to those seen in the series. Raptor Pilot Helo comes with an assortment of goodies too. We get a Medic Kit, an Anti-Radiation kit and some nifty new Cylon Hands! (Well maybe they are just gloves for the flight suit but Cylon Hands certainly does sound much more interesting!), pistol and Raptor Helmet.

Unfortunately the other Helo comes with the same simple pistol and holster and that's about it. It would have been nice to perhaps add some other props from the series with this one considering how much they throw in with the other.

Looking at what else was released for this series it is a shame that so many characters got left out of the series before they decided to pull the plug on it. I am not sure if this line was cancelled due to the show coming to a close or if it was simply the price tag on these lead to a lack of sales .

Being such a small run I will probably pick up a few more of these in the near future.
